As the host of the 2012 Tony Awards ceremony, Neil Patrick Harris is happy to check out this year’s nominated shows. On May 21, the Emmy winner and Golden Globe nominee braved the high seas to catch a high-flying performance of nine-time Tony nominee Peter and the Starcatcher starring Celia Keenan-Bolger and Adam Chanler-Berat. After the curtain came down, Harris, The Lyons’ Kate Jennings Grant and three-time Tony nominee Sandy Duncan (an alum of Peter Pan!) voyaged backstage at the Brooks Atkinson Theater to meet the cast and crew, including co-director Alex Timbers and playwright Rick Elice.

Meet the cast and creative team, including directors Roger Rees and Alex Timbers and writer Rick Elice at the press event for Peter And The Starcatcher on Broadway.

After a successful 2011 Off-Broadway run at the New York Theatre Workshop, “Peter and the Starcatcher” takes flight at Broadway’s Brooks Atkinson Theatre under the direction of Alex Timbers and Roger Rees. The imagination-fueled play with music, based on the Dave Barry-Ridley Pearson novel, takes place in the “Neverland you never knew” and tells the story of Peter Pan before he became the boy who would not grow up. Adam Chanler-Berat (“Next to Normal” stars in the role of “Boy,” Christian Borle (TV’s “Smash”) is his nemesis “Black Stache,” and Celia Keenan-Bolger (“The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee”) is “Molly.”
